An Update On DONNA BOYD!

How I went over to see for myself what her place was like.


Well now there is an update.
She had posted an ad trying to sell her breeding stock so someone I know got in touch to try and get her to give some details.

Here's what we learned.

1. She told me she had 20 dogs in her basement. Umm no. She gave them a list of every dog she owns and there are 67. SIXTY SEVEN.

2. They live in the basement in cages 2 x 2 x 3 and two dogs to a cage. This is where they live, they don't get to come out of there.

3. The cages are filthy. She said she wouldn't sell the cages because they were dirty and she would have to sand off the crap that is caked on them. Too much work for her apparently.

4. They offered her $45 000 for all dogs. No she said. Not enough $.

5. SHE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND THOSE DOGS NEED TO GET OUT OF THAT BASEMENT SO THEY CAN LIVE A NORMAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that so hard? Well apparently.

I made my complaint to the SPCA 3 - 4 weeks ago. Called a week or so ago and still no one has gone to this place to check it out.
Someone made a complaint in the summer. Did anything happen? No.

So someone called the County.
Donna is in a residential zone, in a subdivision. Kennels aren't allowed. But oh wait. Zoning came into effect 1997, she's been living there since 1994 and breeding dogs before then. So she's exempt.

How are her neighbors not complaining????
Do they know she has that many dogs? I doubt it! They never step foot outside!

She apparently wants to get out of breeding the small dogs and she wants to start breeding Shar Pei. She has a 9 month old Shar Pei pup. Already posted an ad that she was looking for a male. That's how I fit in.
No way am I just going to sit here and let her make a breeding machine out of that pup like her 67 other dogs.

Donna used to breed Shar Pei years ago. I know someone who bought one of her Shar Pei when she stopped breeding Shar Pei.

Here is her direct words:

"As you know our first Pei, Sugar Bear came from Donna Boyd in the late 1980s - he was 2.5 years old and knew nothing! He obviously had never walked on grass as he was spooked by it and everything else but we grew to adore his "little ways"! She was, at the time, breeding Pei and smaller dogs as well. she had a dilapidated backyard "kennel" run.

She advertised in the provincial paper that she had adult dogs for I believe between $150-$200. Her story at the time was that she had so many adult dogs (maybe two dozen Pei) because she couldn't bear to give them up. She said they were in the house a lot and so on. She claimed to be in financial trouble so that was why she had to part with them. She co-owned dogs with a woman from the US named Glynis ?. People we knew took one and it dies a few weeks later. Our own Sugar Bear was the one that lived to be 15.

We did not like Donna and never trusted her. Our niece (who was maybe 10 at the time) came with us when we looked at her dogs and she kept telling her mother, "I don't like that lady. She's not nice and I want to go." Very perceptive!

We are sickened that she has even one dog let alone that many!

I would love to get her shut down. "



And that is from someone who dealt with her years ago. She was bad then, she's still bad now.

WHY DOES SHE STILL HAVE DOGS??????????????????????????????

It all boggles my mind.

She told me these dogs weren't fun anymore, she now considers them a "chore" ... so she's getting out of all the small breeds.
To breed Shar Pei , because that's much easier to have them outside in the backyard in a kennel.
Then I was in contact with another lady who had a bad experience with Donna Boyd. She gave me permission to share her story:

Hi! Yes, I did call the SPCA shortly after Leo died. We were so naive at the time that we didn't think it strange that we didn't get to see his parents. As a matter of fact, the only dogs we saw while we were there was a Cavalier King Charles and a SharPei. It wasn't until about 6 months later, when Leo started having serious problems with his bowel, that we knew that there was something very wrong with where we bought him. I contacted Donna and she told me that there was absolutely nothing she could do and did not want us to contact her again. The Vet told us that it was a genetic defect and that contacting the breeder was important because it could be passed to another litter. After spending almost $2000.00 and Leo was not getting any better, we had to have him euthanized. I called Donna again to tell her that Leo had passed away and she told me that she had two adult Shihtzu's that she needed to find good homes for. Because we had just lost Leo a couple of weeks before and we missed him so much, I thought it was fantastic that we could get these dogs.....just for the price of having them neutered. As I mentioned.....we were VERY naive.Both Shihtzu's were shaved down to their bare skin. The male had cuts on him for being clipped so close. The little female had stitches in her from having a C-section a week earlier.....we later found out that all of her puppies had been born dead. She was still on medication to dry up her milk. Both dogs were not at all house trained and had no social skills whatsoever. We kept them for one night and the next day I called a reputable breeder in the Windsor area. As soon as I said Donna's name, she knew exactly who I was talking about. She suggested I call Donna back and request my money back.....and keep the dogs free of charge. I did exactly that and when she tried to argue with me, I informed her that the next time I arrived on her door step, it would be with a RCMP officer. She did refund my money and I still have the little female and a friend had the male for 2 years before he passed away last winter. ...and I can tell you, it was alot of work just introducing them to the outside world! The little female, Molly, was 7 years old when we got her....and Donna was still using her for breeding purposes. Molly still has alot of issues due to the way she was raised and neglected. I contacted the SPCA and told them of what happened and they informed me that they would look into it......I do not know it they did or not. I noticed her ad on Kijiji a couple of months ago, advertising Cavalier puppies and it just makes me sick to my stomach to still think of what we went through a few years ago. When I saw YOUR posting about her, I just about fainted. Although I knew she was misusing her dogs,and that she kept them in her basement..... I had no idea that she had so many.

That poor 6 month old Shih Tzu has been 6 months old for three months by the looks of it!! I wonder what his real age is.
